How to judge the precision of the stamping die?

The precision of the mold is usually used as a "scale" for the precision of the product and the precision of the shape. For products that require strict tolerances, such as IC lead frames or connectors, etc., products with high accuracy are usually considered to be high-precision molds for processing these products. It is estimated that no one will disagree on this point.
So which parts of the mold are of high precision? The product is to reproduce the shape of punch and concave die, perhaps because these molds use the way of copying and grinding (PG machining) or WEDM (W/EDM) to get the precision punch and die shape. It is true that the shape of the punch and die is an important criterion to judge the precision of the die.
The shape of the punch and die is sometimes necessary to maintain the gap. When the plate thickness of the product is thinner, the gap of the stamping will also be reduced in proportion. It is quite difficult to maintain consistency. Correspondingly, even if the tolerances of the shape and size of the product are large, when the thin plate is used for machining, in order to maintain a smaller gap, accurate punch shape is also needed, and the accuracy of the assembly position is maintained when assembled into the die. It can be said that the thickness of the material of the product is also a measure of the precision of the mold. For the shape precision of the product, when the plate thickness is thinner, even the subtle changes in the contact situation will lead to a large fluctuation in the precision. In a word, it is very important to ensure the shape precision of the punch and die.
The satisfactory parts can be obtained by ensuring the shape precision of the punch and die. Because the punch and the concave die are respectively arranged on the upper die and the lower die, the guide column and guide sleeve (which is used for guaranteeing the accuracy relation between the upper die and the lower die) are also indirectly important for ensuring the accuracy of the die. In consideration of the need to use the discharge plate to guide the punch, the production of the discharge plate (internal guide), the bolt and the spring of the discharge plate, and so on, also have some influence.
If it is not clear as the influence factor of the "scale", the precision of the mold can not be discussed. For example, what state of state should be guaranteed by internal guidance. Depending on the required accuracy, the parts and assembly methods used will also change. It is difficult to call a high precision mold, even if it looks like that, on the premise that there is no clear requirement.
It is clear if the premise is clear. For example, considering the thinner material, the mold should be considered. According to the idea of smaller clearance to punch, concave die's shape accuracy and surface roughness to punch, concave die's position accuracy, and then ensure the orientation, we can naturally think of the shape that mold should have.
The precision of the mold is independent of the number of processing products, but it is determined by the product itself.
