What are the advantages and disadvantages of riveting (riveted), bolted connection (bolted) and weld

In the 19-20 century, many important steel structures were riveted, such as Eiffel Tower and automobile skeleton. In the late 20, a large number of structures began to be welded, such as the skeleton of a car, but some structures, such as the aircraft fuselage, the steel structure, and so on, used the technology of screw connections. Where are the differences between riveting and screw connection? Why do bridges connect with screws instead of welding?
Answer
From the perspective of bearing capacity, riveting is better in bearing shear capacity and poor in pulling force. A screw is in tension shear can. Welding is also acceptable for tensile and shearing, but it is afraid of tearing.
From the angle of screw is removable, removable links, and riveting and welding are not.
From the perspective of quality assurance, welding is the most difficult to check quality, so civil aviation aircraft welding is less.
In terms of changing the material properties of the parts, the welding has the greatest influence, the problem of residual stress and deformation is serious, the bridge and the car can be borne, and the high requirement for the aerodynamic shape of the surface of the plane is not ideal.
From the cost point of view, threaded connection is higher than riveting and welding.
From increasing the excess weight angle, threaded links are higher than riveting and higher than welding.
For dissimilar material connections (such as aluminum and titanium, material and titanium, different series of aluminum alloys), welding is not too good (the common materials on the plane are connected, so it seriously affects the application range of the welding).
